Getting Started with PDG Mail

Welcome to PDG Mail! Follow this comprehensive guide to set up your secure email account and start communicating with confidence.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have these ready before starting setup:

  • A valid email address for account recovery
  • Your mobile device for two-factor authentication
  • At least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time

1. Account Creation

To create your PDG Mail account:

  1. Go to our registration page
  2. Choose your plan (personal, business, or free trial)
  3. Enter your personal details and desired email address
  4. Set up two-factor authentication for security
  5. Verify your recovery email address
  6. Download your emergency recovery kit

Important Security Note

Your emergency recovery kit contains your encryption keys. Store it securely (like a password manager or printed copy in a safe) as it cannot be recovered if lost.

2. Setting Up Email Clients

PDG Mail works with most email clients. Here are our recommended settings:

SMTP mail.pdg-mail.com 465 SSL/TLS
Alternative SMTP mail.pdg-mail.com 587 STARTTLS

* Note: Some networks may block standard ports. If you have connection issues, try the alternative ports.

3. Importing Existing Data

Migrate your emails, contacts, and calendars from other services:

Getting Started

Setup guides for new PDG Mail users

To create a PDG Mail account:

  1. Visit our registration page
  2. Choose your desired plan (or select Free trial)
  3. Enter your account details and payment information
  4. Verify your email address
  5. Set up your encryption keys (we'll guide you through this)
  6. Download and install any recommended apps or plugins

PDG Mail works with any standards-compliant email app on mobile:

  1. Download your preferred email client (we recommend FairEmail or K-9 Mail for Android, Canary Mail for iOS)
  2. Open the app and select "Add Account"
  3. Enter your full PDG Mail email address and password
  4. For server settings:
    • IMAP: mail.pdg-mail.com
    • SMTP: mail.pdg-mail.com
    • Port: 993 (IMAPS) and 465 (SMTPS)
  5. Install our PGP plugin if you want end-to-end encryption

Follow these steps to migrate from another provider:

  • For email: Use our migration tool in webmail settings to automatically import from Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.
  • For contacts: Export as CSV from your old provider and import in our Contacts section
  • For calendar: Export as ICS files and import in our Calendar section
  • Make sure to back up your encryption keys before starting the migration
